MISSION

Inspired by our core values of kindness, compassion, philanthropy, and volunteerism, we honor the legacy of our founder Susan Phippen by supporting families and individuals during times of hardship, spreading joy to those who need it most, and recognizing those dedicated to serving our community.

The Susan Phippen House, home of Scituate Community Christmas, serves as an anchor by providing a warm, welcoming space for outreach and giving while connecting people with charitable organizations to promote the common good.

DIRECT ASSISTANCE

Central to our mission, our Direct Assistance program is open to Scituate residents, those who work within the town of Scituate, and students at Scituate Public Schools and their families who may need assistance during times of hardship. Applications are available online and we follow a formal intake process. Assistance is offered at the holidays and year round, and all information is kept strictly confidential. Apply HERE.

ACTS OF KINDNESS

In the spirit of SCC Founder Susan Phippen, the Acts of Kindness program helps spread joy and light to those individuals or families living in Scituate who could benefit from a little extra cheer. This will come in the form of a thoughtfully curated care package and serves as a reminder that we are thinking of them. If you would like to nominate someone, please do so below.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

Our Community Impact program supports dedicated groups of local residents, from veterans to first responders, teachers to town employees, and serves as a reminder of our collective gratitude for their service and dedication to our community.

With Gratitude: Messages from Our Community

“We are so thankful to live in a community where kindness and love are met with such meaningful giving.”

“You have shown our family that even when tides are rough, that your community can show up in an unexpected way to help ride out the storm.”

To help support SANDS and SCC, please consider donating emergency supplies found on our Amazon wishlist. Having essentials like clothing and toiletries readily on hand ensures we can respond swiftly in the moment of crisis.

We could not do this important work without your continued generosity and support. Thank you for being part of our story and supporting those friends and neighbors facing hardship.
